If you've ever lost a lobster because you were fumbling between a tickle stick and a separate snare, the LobsterStick was built for you. It's a single 36-inch tool that does both jobs — coax the bug out with the stick end, then slip the snare loop over the tail and pull. One tool, one motion, one bag limit reached.

We're a family from Miami. We've been lobstering the Florida Keys, Biscayne Bay, and the reefs off South Florida our whole lives. We built the LobsterStick because everything else on the market was either too flimsy, too complicated, or just a basic aluminum rod with a wire loop zip-tied on. We wanted something that actually holds up dive after dive, season after season — and we wanted it made right here in the USA.

How to use it

Spot your lobster tucked into a reef ledge or rocky hole. Use the stick end to gently guide it out from behind — never poke, just nudge. As it backs out or turns, position the snare loop behind the carapace over the tail, then give a firm, quick pull to cinch it tight. Transfer to your catch bag. That's it. With a little practice you'll be moving through spots faster than divers carrying two separate pieces of gear.

Who this is for

The standard LobsterStick is the right tool for most divers — snorkelers, free divers, and anyone working reefs in 3 to 30 feet of water in the Florida Keys, Miami, Broward, the Treasure Coast, or anywhere along Florida's southeast coast. If you're brand new to lobstering, this is the one to start with. If you're a veteran, it's the one you'll actually reach for because it doesn't slow you down.

Frequently asked questions

Is using a snare legal in Florida?
Yes. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) permits the use of snares for recreational spiny lobster harvest. Wire snares that penetrate the shell are prohibited — the LobsterStick loop cinches around the tail without puncturing, keeping you fully legal. Always verify current regulations at myfwc.com before heading out.

What's the difference between this and the LobsterStick Heavy?
The standard LobsterStick is 3/8" wide and is the right choice for most divers and most reef conditions. The Heavy model is 1/2" wide — thicker, stiffer, and built for larger lobsters or divers who prefer more rigidity when working deeper holes. If you're unsure, start here.

Will it ship in time for mini season?
We ship fast. Order early and you'll have it well before July 29. Check our shipping policy for current processing times.

Can beginners use this?
Absolutely. The dual-function design actually makes it easier for beginners because you only have to manage one tool underwater instead of two.
